Conference Focus

Since 2008, the world has experienced economic and financial turmoil that has led to contraction of trade and FDI flows. The developed economies have shrunk amongst calls for a greater focus on protectionism, export stimulation, defensive strategies and restrictions on imports. Meanwhile, most emerging economies have shown resilience by developing domestic markets and maintaining growth beyond national boundaries. These coupled with pressures for sustainability have impacted upon the dynamics of international business.

 The Conference aims to discuss the dynamics and diversity of international business and its role in boosting sustainable development, which is indispensable for the long-term prosperity of nations. Theoretical and empirical contributions are invited.

Conference themes include, but are not limited to:

·         Dynamics and diversity in firm internationalization;

·         The importance of context in internationalization;

·         Diversity of internationalization modes, approaches and theoretical considerations;

·         Internationalisation strategy, institutions and competitiveness;

·         Challenges to firm internationalisation in developed, emerging and small economies;

·         Cross-cultural challenges in internationalisation;

·         Accelerated internationalisation, outsourcing and global value chains;

·         Dynamics in international entrepreneurship and innovation;

·         International business and sustainability.
